God Will Take Care of You

The word "believe" means to lean your whole weight on Him. It means that God is the only presence and power in your life.
J.C. Penny discovered this truth. Mr. Penny had made a tremendous fortune then lost it all. He went through a tragic time, with heavy debts. Finally he suffered a nervous breakdown resulting in shingles and other diseases. He was in a sanatorium, very low physically, spiritually and mentally. One night he was certain that it would be his last. He wrote a farewell letter to his family. It seemed to him that in his depression everyone had deserted him. He felt alone, a beaten and defeated human being.

Much to his surprise when morning came, he was still alive. As he lay in his bed, weak and depressed he heard the sound of voices singing a hymn. He got out of bed and shuffled down the hall where a Christian meeting was being held. The people were singing, "Be not dismayed whatever betide, God will take care of you". He leaned against the door and thought, "I was reared a Christian, will God take care of me?" He returned to his room and in a moment of complete surrender gave his heart to God. He began to feel as if a blanket of fog was lifting and light was coming through. In the days to come a deep joy welled up within him, life and zest returned.
Imagine what can happen from a simple but profound truth, "God will take care of you".
