God can take little things and make them go a mighty long way!

A mother might buy her child a pair of sport shoes, and look 3 weeks later and the shoes are all worn out.  But the Lord took the shoes of the children of Israel and touched them with His finger, and although they stayed in the wilderness for 40 long years, climbed many mountainous terrains, and walked in the blazing deserts sands… - for 40 long years their shoes never wore out!  God can take a little and make it go long way!

Five thousand men and women gathered to hear the Savior.  But there was little food to feed the crowd.  A little boy who had 2 fishes and 5 loaves of bread came forward, but it seemed too small to feed such a small crowd.  But Jesus took the little meal and blessed it and fed 5,000.

The Lord can take little things and make them go a long way.

Somebody can witness that conditions in your family at one time were really bad and you wondered how you would make it through.  Some parents worried that they wouldn’t have enough time to teach their children what they needed to know. Some mothers worried that they didn’t have the money to buy their children the finest of everything.  Somebody else worried because opportunities seem to pass their family by every day.  But oh how the Lord can bless the little that you have and cause it to go a long ways.  Little can become much if God is in it.  He gave you a few more days to advise and talk to your children.  He touched your nickels and dimes with the finger of His love and every time it looks like you’re down to your last dime, the nickels come into your pocket, just when you need them most!  Isn’t it amazing how the Lord puts things together for us, even while we’re worrying about it?

We might face situations beyond our reserves but never beyond God’s resources.  That’s why we shouldn’t worry.  Worry is like a rocking chair, it gives you something to do but it takes you nowhere. Worry increases pressure, but prayer increases peace.

Matthew 6: 25 – 26, 34

“Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; not about your body, what you will put on.  Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing?  Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them.  Are you not of more value than they?  Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things.  Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
